Need HELP! Replacing 275/80R 22.5 Tires

OK, DH is asleep and I am researching replacing our Allegro Bus tires and running into all kinds of technical issues.

What we have: Michelin 275/80R 22.5 Pilot Radial.

What we want: Yokohama tires.

Of course, Michelin is the only one that makes this size tire. Which size Yokohama would be comparable and would fit? Would the 285/75R24.5G/ RY023 work?

Any help greatly appreciated.

This is the second time in a week this question's come up, and last time I quoted one of your older posts on the subject- is the below still true, or did I steer the feller wrong?

These tire sizes by other manufacturers are direct replacements for the Michelin specific sizes.
    Popular RV tire size equivalents:
    .. Michelin..to...Goodyear, Toyo etc
    235/80R22.5 = 245/75R22.5
    255/80R22.5 = 265/75R22.5
    275/80R22.5 = 295/75R22.5

I replaced my original 235/80R22.5 tires with GY G670 275/70R22.5. Much higher load rating, about 1 inch wider tread and almost the same diameter and revolutions per mile. (less than a 1% speedometer error)
When going to a tire with different dimensions you need to check wheel well clearance and dual wheel spacing.

Looks like a 295/75 R 22.5 is the same size for anyone but Michelin

Mike: The 235/80R22.5 is a Michelin size. The equivalent by other mfgr is 245/75R22.5, same specs, diameter and loading. Load Range G

Dunno the original link- reposted by me in this recent thread.

Thanks "me again"! I actually knew that much. Didn't look closely enough. I'll look at the 295/75 22.5H Yokohama's then. Thanks hooligan.

    No problem. Chris

You need to find a replacement that ends in 22.5. That is your current rim size. The Yoko you noted is for a 24.5" rim.

If you want Yoko's, contact a dealer for a recomendation to fit you rims and rig. You want a tire with a similar diameter. Chris
