need help with toad battery disconnect

hello and thanks for reading my post.. i have a 2016 jeep wrangler that im going to pull behind my motor home. i purchased a wiring harness for the rear lights from cool tech. along with the harness i purchased a battery disconnect. the harness was installed with no problems but the disconnect installation reads that the negative poll on the battery should be removed and the disconnect should slide in the post clamp but the post on the disconnect is too small and will not tighten down.should i use the positive post? any suggestions would be appreciated..

Well, I guess you could shim it.

Just be aware that you'll have a little more maintenance. The part of the joint you can see could look clean but there could be corrosion under the shim.
Image is from this Amazon Link
Looking around on Amazon, there are a number of anti-corrosion products for battery terminals. One called NoCo NCP2 looks promising for what you're doing. It'll be a little messy. Brushes on and is oily, so it never dries.
