Need recommendations: Drinking/RV/Boating Hose

I just bought the white hose with blue stripe from Walmart marked for drinking water. Works fine, except the connections at the ends aren't great - takes some fiddling to get them to be leak free.

Some people say it is a myth, but I have found that hoses marked "drinking water" (which are usually white with a blue stripe) definitely impart much less of the rubber flavor to water.
