I have several sets of Firestone Transforce LT tires. Both the AT and HT tread design. Had them on my trucks and also on my 5th wheel.
I have found them to be really nice tires. The HT tread is a little quieter than the AT. But the AT (for All Terrain) is not all the noisy. The Transforce is also very reasonably priced. I think the last set I bought the tire price was $180.00. Balanced mounting and all the taxes added the total was just under $1000. These were 4 tires Size LT245-75-16E. And mounted on my 5th wheel. Set before that were mounted on my Truck. Can't remember the exact size but they were LT E range 18" and priced at about $1100 Total.
Have never been disappointed with any of my Transforce tires. I recommend them highly. Although I think LT E range tires might make your ride a little rougher on your 1500 half ton.
I tend to steer clear of Michelin and Goodyear brands. Have not had great experiences with either of them. And...OH...the price you pay for them. UGH! I just don't think the value is there, like it used to be.
