Thinking about going LT Michelin truck tires.
Comments? Advise?
This is a great move for a 7000 lb trailer.
Just about every USA LT tire maker has a LT235/75-15 load C at 1980 lbs.
Goodyear Wrangler HT has a LT215/85-15 D load range at 2096 lb capacity.
Most LT tires gives us a 14-15/32" of tread depth which can be good for 40k-50k miles of service if you travel a lot of miles per year. ST tires like the new Endurance with only 8/32" of tread depth are better suited for those who travel short distances per year.
These two LT tires that their mfg has recommended for trailer use over the years;
Goodyear Wrangler H/T
Cooper Discoverer HT-3
Check other LT tire mfg for 15" sizes and load ranges.
Lots of mis info about LT vs ST is be posted on rv websites. Info like sidewall stiffness has long been shown to be myth from ST tire mfg/dealers like Discount tire adds that wants to sell you a ST tire.
