I'm terrified of this situation enough to do the above, and I have.
I'll never forget rounding a corner at 50mph and in an instant I see a guy stopped in the road making a left. Stopping would have been a disaster, so I whipped around him on the shoulder. Terrifying. A stopped left turn at the end of a blind curve? That's the worst.
