I believe it's dumb to leave it on, especially while fueling. Just because nothing happens to most people,it can happen. And if you're in a major accident with the propane on, you can imagine what could occur. I've been an electrician for 40 plus years. I have seen some really bad electrical work. And when you point it out,sometimes you hear "we never had a problem". No, you didn't. But the fact is the potential is there for a fire or shock.While it won't happen to most,it could and I don;t want to be responsible for that. We run our fridge before we leave to get it cold. We put one frozen gallon milk jug in the fridge and a half gallon in freezer. Holds up for 12 hours if you don't open the door. We carry a smaller cooler in the truck for our drinks and sandwhiches.
