The champion inverter generators are virtually the same as the Hondas as far as noise level goes. The engines have slightly different sounds however, as does the similar Yamaha units so one might have a less annoying sound to your tastes than others. You can barely hear my champions from inside the rig when they are running at low load settings. If you're pushing them harder though they get a fair bit louder, but generally not enough so to be heard over the microwave or AC which is generally the load making them ramp up.
