Yesterday was able to hook everything up and connect to my trailer. I first attempted to use my surge protector, but it showed "reversed polarity." I read in another thread this is because of the floating neutral (in inverter generators), and I need to get/make a special plug to change that situation. I then hooked up straight to my trailer and it worked beautifully!! Microwave, heater (too cold now for AC), lights. I had more power than when hooking to my house (I know that's supposed to happen, but this is my first time using a generator so I'm finding it very interesting, and cool, maybe I'm just having fun with my new toy :))
One note so far on set up. The ground terminal has two nuts tightened together. It was very difficult separating them (I'm sure I didn't do it the right way to begin with). My suggestion: Get two small wrenches to make sure you can separate these two in order to connect the ground terminal . One of the units was just tightened too much (my opinion), the other was not a problem. The directions don't say anything about this. I think its a situation of those who know how to do these things just take this for granted. Those of us who don't know some of these tricks end up making silly mistakes because I don't know any better.
