New Chevy Truck with wifi compared to truck towing RV!!

It is a funny commercial.

Service provided by ATT&T, and costs depends on what Onstar package you have, how much data you plan to use. You can get the wifi without Onstar but the pricing is different. Still not sure how this is any better than a phone with hotspot capabilities. Still need a signal.

The auto-makers were slow to add WiFi to vehicles and some (Chrysler) chose Sprint as their service provider which offers 3G, read that as v e r y s l o w.

Verizon has free hot spot as does T-Mobile, both 4G with no additional access/connect hardware fees or contacts.

I had the free wi-fi when I bought my Chevy truck in the spring. The wi-fi was pretty cool, the monthly price isn't outrageous, and it worked well for us. But as someone mentioned before, if you have a phone, why do you need the wi-fi? I don't think you need a wireless carrier. The big drawback for me was your vehicle has to be on for the wi-fi to work. I had thought about using it in my camper at night to web surf, but would rather not have the key on in my truck all night.

Just wait until those vehicle wifi's get hacked and the vehicles computers have a virus that crashes them and are toast.

Chances are in the "remote" worksite, as they say, the dish will probably work better as 4g may not be available...FAIL CHEVY

The advertising industry are nothing more than misleading sales people. They have in small, small print that a provider of internet is needed and its not on the screen long enough to read. It might be good for people that want to throw their money away and have money to burn.Not for me!

I promise you. I'm not saying this because I drive a Ford. I'm not a "Ford or die" kind of guy.

But isn't Chevy getting almost desperate with their commercials? The aluminum cage with a bear. The one where they have the three behind the big doors and they claim "best in conventional towing". This one.

I think it all started back when Howie Long was cracking on the step Ford had in their tailgate. Of course, Chevy comes along later with a step in the bumper.

I'd probably would have been the only one in that group that would have taken the truck with the camper and Dolores over the truck with just the wifi! :B:B

I suppose if you have kids and need to keep them entertained with all kinds of gadgets when driving them to school for a 5 minute ride every day, there might be a need for the wifi connect in an automobile.

Our Chevy 2015 (automobile) came with the option for wifi. We decided our phones operate as a hot spot and we're already paying for it, why add another bill for wifi service we won't use when our phones already do it all.

I think it's just another gadget to skim people of their money. Advertisments made it "look" like it's something you absolutely MUST have and gullible people go out and get it!

Yes, wifi in your automobiles is a nice feature .... if there is a REAL need for it! Before signing up .... think it through! Don't be taken in by one-sided.... single focused advertisements ... where the goal is to get you to part with your money and some CEO gets a million dollar Christmas bonus every year!
