Everyone who buys an Equal-i-zer and installs it themselves has this issue. The other issue is - do you own or have access to a properly sized torque wrench that is capable of torquing those two shank bolts to 320 ft-lbs and Equal-i-zer hitch ball to 430 ft-lbs.? Most don't, I certainly don't but was able to borrow one from a friend that was rated to 600 ft-lbs - problem solved for me but if you don't have a solution for this you'd better figure one out. ;) BTW, if you'd downloaded and read the Equal-i-zer instructions before you bought it you'd know all this already. :W
Thanks for the lecture. Didn't realize what a sanctimonious place this board was until today, although I think I do recognize a username from a couple of other threads...
Anyway, to answer your question and address your TIC comment: Shank bolts, yes. Hitch nut, I thought so, but as my initial post above indicates, without having known ahead of time that a proprietary socket was required (since it is not noted in the installation manual), no.
