On my Blue ox swaypro hitch, same issue. It's tight up in there and takes a thinwall socket. Mine is 1-13/16". The OD of the socket is 2.5" and just does slip up in there. This is an SK socket. In my case, I took the hitch head and ball with me to the tool store so I could make sure it would fit.
PS, ignore the cheap shots from the peanut gallery. Stick around here and you'll find most folks really are helpful
EDIT: if you were over her in AZ I'd say stop on by. Kind of a long drive though, eh ?
Thanks. If I can't find a shop that can do it I am going to try to find a socket locally. One shop that I went to today said it's a 1-13/16", but Equal-i-zer tech says it's 1-7/8"...
AZ is a bit far these days, but I grew up in Paradise Valley and then lived up in Cave Creek until 2005 so I'm pretty familiar with the area. Spent a bit of time with MCSO before I went to work for the Fed Gov't.. Actually heading out there in a couple of weeks to catch up with family in LAS and deputy friends in PHX.
