What a great neighbor!
Although the transmission problem on a planned camping trip stinks, you handled it with CLASS! You came to get him and his family, made sure his truck was towed, brought his camper home, and talked respectfully and kindly to him about the differences.
Whatever truck he upgrades to, it should be better for he and his family now and in the future.
...and I was concerned the world of "being neighborly" was fading away :E
