We sold a perfect Nash 22H a few years ago and purchased a near perfect Cougar 24RKS that was 3 years old---but had only been slept in 9 nights.
The Cougar was musty smelling from being closed up, the pump didn't work (seals dried up),the heater didn't work ( it had never been turned on), and we had the bearings and brakes redone. We've towed it 13,000 miles? and didn't spend anywhere what it would have cost new.
I can tell you personally, buying new can be a good idea, but horror stories abound about new purchases--myself included, and listening to campers around the park.
Give used units a looksee. There are gems out there now and then. Craiglist is a starting place.
Have fun and good hunting.
