I have not had this problem. But I camp at small to midsize campgrounds that are a good distance from major urban areas and that cater to actual campers rather than RVers.
I do not have a porch light. I have a small puck light with a magnet and remote that I stick on my bumper when I'm camped. If I am coming back to my clipper in the dark, I hit my remote and the puck light turns on so I am directed straight to it. When I arrive, I turn off the puck light.
I have seen this at RV parks. They tend to go along with the awnings, yard decorations, dog enclosures, porch carpets, etc. Where I camp, people don't have all that stuff. Instead, they have dog tie outs, tarps, campfires, etc.
