Consider slightly used, rather than new?

If you are not pulling a fiver, you can usually get a 6-12 month old E-350 passenger van with 5.4 V-8 at about 20,000 miles for around $20,000, that's XLT trim and full set of seats, coming out of the rental fleets or a one-year lease. Original price was close to $30K.

No 4x4, however.

I never see deals like that on work truck versions of pickups, even coming off lease with 2-3X the mileage at two years. Those will also usually be V-6 or the smaller V-8, and very seldom are they 4x4. Expect 70-80% of price new, on fleet 1/2 tons, rather than the 2/3 typical for used passenger vans.

Do they make a 1500 with a diesel for Canada? I looked at the GMC site and did not see an option for a diesel in the 1500. I had heard there was development of one but didn't that that came to fruition.

LouLou lives in Canada. They often have combinations there that we don't have in the US. Sometimes it is our EPA that is the problem. The Canadians seem to love paying higher prices for everything. That is why you see so many come across the border to do their shoppping. (I was sitting the my MH in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. last week and the cars there from Ontario outnumbered the Michigan cars.

You may have to order what you want. Not a lot of profit in those types of trucks.

Now in Denver,you could get a nice2013 F150 4x4 LTD for $30000

Find a truck dealer- not a car dealer. They will have work trucks which should fill the bill.

Now is a good time to buy a 2013 model since the 2014s are out. Check your paper for local dealer's sales and the dealer's web sites for their ads. Local dealers around here are offering leftover 2013 F150 for around $11K-$12K off sticker and Superdutys for up to $16K off sticker.
Don't know what GM and Dodge are doing.
Bought my 2012 F350 last August for $14K off sticker. That turns $60K+ into a more reasonable price.

Check your associations also. When I bought the ram owning an Agco product tractor was worth a few bucks off, as was belonging to an electricians union, or being a member of AOPA
