New tow vehicle cost

I am just about to start looking for a new tow vehicle since my old one is a 2005
What can I expect to pay (bottom line)
My specs are it would be either a Ford F-150, Chevy, Dodge
-Must have a tow package
- Must be 4 x 4
-be a V-8,
-Have the back seat with a half door
- Have the six and a half foot bed
- I am looking for the basic model with bench type seats, automatic transmission cruise control and power windows

  • I don't think anyone makes a half door model any longer. They will have a full door and a full back seat, not a comfortable one but still a full seat.
Most trucks on the lots will also have a short box 6' and a bit longer, although now I think it is called a standard bed.
Dodge will probably give you the best price, but lowest payload.
When I was looking Ford was the proudest and I didn't really look at GM's.
Expect to spend 23 to 27K. Go shopping the last week of the month and look at 2013's for the best deal.
  • 30k to 35k for an F150 here. Closer to 25k if you want a bare-bones truck.

My new F350 diesel 4x4 Lariat crew cab didn't cost 65k. All he wants is a basic 1/2 ton 4x4.
  • 25-30k depending on trim level and options. It is possible to spend a lot more but not needed unless you like a lot of fluff in a truck

Think you are about 35000K over on your estimate.
