We don’t camp a lot, but found the same in ID and MT. Our usual spot for boating on Pendoreille, that RV park had vacancy, which has never been the case. And it’s sweet. Nice park, great restaurant and breakfast shack onsite and a huge marina with about 50 slips.
Same with NF campgrounds in MT. They were fairly busy but not lined up out the gate. Middle of summer.
WA state parks and east side places were packed though. We either lucked out with getting a cancellation or camped on the side of the highway.
BUT no denying that many new people bought campers this year.
