New units on the road

We saw a lot of new units headed west from Indianapolis on I-70 Monday. We just traveled from Terre Haute so don't know which route they were takeing. I figure there's a sales boom in Texas. Wonder if they removed the driver restrictions again.
  • Or snow birds headed to the Southwest? I'm guessing too.
  • I am in the dark also. Curious about a driver restriction. How does that work?
  • Yes, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has lifted the Hours of Service restrictions for any commercial driver assisting hurricane victims. In other words, instead of driving 11 hours and taking a required 10 hour break, if you are assisting in hurricane relief you can drive until you crash (literally).
  • With IN being the central "core" of RV manufacturing, and new models heading for the dealers lots this time of year, I'm not surprised there's an uptick in RV traffic in that area.
  • When I was shopping at this time of year in 06 the dealer mentioned that next years models come out this time of year to get them on dealer lots before the winter weather so they are in place come spring. True or not, don't know.
