I make coffee in our RV all the time using the propane cooktop, instant coffee, and a titanium cup. No mess, nothing to wash up afterward (heat directly in the cup and wipe it out with a paper towel for the next use), and no noise.
P.S. I hate the taste of any coffee anyway - just want some warm morning buzz - so cream and sugar cover up any instant coffee "downside". BTW, contrary to urban myths ... there now ARE designer instant coffees available that taste pretty much "good".
