Trust me, go with the DC 1500lb bars. With very little in the storage compartment, one LP tank full and no water I'm at 1400lbs on the tongue. I originally had 1200 bars and had all kinds of towing issues I couldn't figure out until I weighed it.
I started all over with new everything except the cams themselves, including the receiver on the truck.
I too thought 1200 tongue weight would be close giving the 900lb published weight, and never dreamed it would be as high as it is, around 16% actually.
I'm hooking up this Friday, I'll try to get you a measurement of the coupler height.
