Newbie Question #2, Patching Under Layment/Tarp

Ok so I'm new to travel trailers. On the under side of the trailer there is a black, tarp like material that I assume is supposed to keep water from getting to the decking. While underneath adjusting the breaks I noticed it is wearing through in quite a few places. I tried a search but not really sure what you call that membrane so didn't come up with much. What are you guys/gals using to patch that membrane? I did use some Eternabond Tape in one area that had a pretty big hole but just wandering if there are better options.

Thanks,
Eric

  • Thank you for the tip. It must be the polethylene belly material. It looks just like the flex tape in the link you posted Old-Biscuit. Kind of a black tarp with a slight checkerboard or carbon fiber pattern on it. Roll of flex bond ordered!

    Thank you!
  • IS the material thin fabric like OR kinda like plastic cardboard?

    Plastic cardboard is coroplast material
Thin fabric material is polyethylene belly material.

Eternabond Tape will work on either.
Gorilla Tape works well on the coroplast

Flex-Mend tape is used on the fabric material under mobile homes/mfg. homes.
