We used to do an occasional Walmart or Cracker Barrel until someone pointed out to me that "you paid a lot of money for your rig", why would you park overnight in a Walmart parking lot to save a few bucks. Of course it wasn't always about saving a few bucks but just wanting to get to our destination asap. I realized that it is more pleasurable for us to take our time, find a campground, enjoy the full hookups and not worry about security. I'm not saying a campground is 100% safe, but certainly safer than a Walmart that you don't even know if it is safe or not. That's my opinion but everyone's priorities differ. Enjoy it how you want to.
