Non propane cook stove as seen on TV shows?

You don't see a propane tank, and there are no electrical wires. Just a little square box with a burner.:?

I'm not sure what type you saw on a cooking show but our new Motorhome comes with an induction cooktop. It looks similar to a regular electric glass top stove but there are no heating elements. It actually heats the pans and not the stovetop. I requires special pots and pans (magnetic) to work.
