Just wondering how many folks out there are from north Carolina?

Gew up in DC, North Carolinian by choice. My big brother was stationed at Cherry Point when he got back from Vietnam.
He met a local girl on a blind date (whose daddy was one of the four guys who put every penny they could scrape up into buying a barren 12mile stretch of sand in the 1950s, now known as Emerald Isle. Lobbied Raleigh to get the bridge built.)
So he married her and our family started renting a shack on the island for a week every summer in the early 70s. They'll all be here in June. Fourth generation now, shack is nicer.
Our late, wonderful Mom and Dad retired here. Other brother married a girl from Beaufort. We made the move five years ago. That one blind date changed a lot of lives.
