Several years ago I was approaching a stop sign at a busy intersection. Just as I came to a complete stop I look to my right and there stands one of those long neck crane birds standing right beside the passanger window of my car. I am saying less than a foot away, the window was fully open at the time. The rascal just leaned forward and stuck his head inside and looked around. I was amazed and neither of us spoke, he backed out and I drove away. He was still standing there as I drove out of sight. Thought maybe he was thinking about a ride, but I guess he didn't like my looks.
