Odd things that Happen when on the Road

Many years ago when I was in high school we were following a car down a NC mountain road when it went around a curve to the left and a woman tumbled out the passenger door and went sliding down the shoulder. The car did a panic stop and so did we. The driver got to the lady about the same time we did, and to our amazement she was wrapped around a screaming baby. It looked like it was 4 months or so old. Turned out the baby had a slight scrape along the side of it's foot and was otherwise seemed ok. The mother had a lot of scrapes all along her side and back. We got everyone loaded back into the car, and the husband took off for the hospital. We never heard anything more about the incident, so hopefully everything was no worse than it looked like at the scene.
