Driving back home from 'Dega spring race in '02 Explorer Sport Trac northbound on I-65 through Birmingham. Huge, like 8' by 10', sheet of steel comes sailing off the back of flatbed truck in font of us. Hit the brakes, hear a loud bang, the ABS is going nuts and I can't steer. Drifts over to the shoulder and finally stops. Get out and look and not a scratch on the truck. Couldn't steer because front wheels were "surfing" down the highway on a big sheet of steel. Bang was from when the tires slapped that steel down on the pavement. Took about an hour before we could continue on.
