Odd things that Happen when on the Road

Back some years ago, I had just gotten a newly issued patrol car. It had just over 2,000 miles on it. Had to take an incarcerated guy to the other end of the state to testify in a court case. Dropped him off and were headed back home and we took a "short cut" on a country road. The other officer was in the passenger seat and he said "watch out, there's........" before a deer slammed into the passenger side front quarter panel, door, rear door, roof and anything else that was on that side. We were covered with deer guts from one end to the other. We called the state police and the officer came out to do a report....in bright pink running shorts. (He was participating in the Torch Run for Special Olympics). It was such a strange day. We limped home in my now ugly, beat up NEW car. Over $10,000 worth of damage and they went ahead and totalled it out.
