Oil for Onan 3200QD

I was told by Cummins/Onan in Elkhart, IN to run NON synthetic Rotella 15-40. I have a 6500.

One of the diesel spec 15W40 will work Delo 400, Rotella, Delvac etc.

This off of Cummins web site

NOTE: Multi-grade oils (such as SAE 15W-40) are recommended for year-round use in Cummins Onan
liquid-cooled engines, or as a good all-season oil for air-cooled engines.
NOTE: SAE-30 is the preferred summer grade for optimum oil consumption control in Cummins Onan
air-cooled engines

I use M1 0w-40 year-round in my 4K Onan. Be sure and run it at least once a month or more often under load.

They did have Valvoline on the shelf for sale also. He said the fact is the Rosella is less $ and easy to find.

He said the Synthetic was too slick for the gens.

Rosmella, lol that's true. Used that stuff once and a buddy borrows the truck right after.
Calls me all worried said the truck smells like something's wrong!
Fwiw, I use on sale 15-40 oil in pretty much everything I own. Buying oil by the quart for me is like buying 1 grape at a time at the store!
Stock up on whatever is $10 a gallon when I'm out and mowers, truck, boat, wheeler, all small engines, SRT all use it.
Even use Rotella T6 in my bike and quad w wet clutches. Half the price or less than that high do.lar stuff at the bike shop or Amsoil site. Jaso ma approved.
