As a Vietnam War Veteran, I'm sure it will be more sobering, I hope not haunting. It is hard to walk away from these type of locations and not be affected by the impact of what they represent.
It appears as though the NPS has put it in perspective considering the totality of circumstance and reverence.
Well said and yes they have done a very nice work there creating a hallowed place to consider the plight of war on humanity.
