Some one-way glass can work both ways depending on the intensity of the light from each side.
Rumor has it that an architect specified one-way glass in a sorority shower room, which worked fine during daylight hours, but not so good after dark?
Try a sample first.
All one-way glass works the same way. It is a film that is placed on the glass that works off the intensity of the light on each side. As long as the intensity of the light on one side is greater than the other side, you can see through from the other side. The type of film will determine the amount of difference required between each side.
The side that is the brightest will not be able to see through the glass which is why they work best during the daytime and not so much in the evening when you have dark outside and interior lights on.
I have a film on my Grand Design windows that you can't see through during the day.
