Glad you got ok. The 'other' people not helping? I think that is simply because first of all they are in awe that we even tow a car with a MH let alone know what to even do to help!
It's a right of passage and it doesn't even need to be your fault.
My 2 Chinese fire drills of unhooking, moving the MH and re hooking up:
1. A bad, make that a VERY bad CG host who directed me in a CG site in the middle of the night leaving me with a 45 degree jackknifed toad and unable to pull forward and unable to unhook the toad.
THAT little incident taught me to always carry a small hammer and socket extension that fits into the locking pins so you can beat the dang things out if needed!
2. Burger King in Marietta, GA....don't ever pull into THAT one! There is NO exit! :E
Only a tight turn around that you can not pull off with a MH. That was my record breaking fastest time to unhook, move the toad, run back move the MH, run back for car, and rehook up!!
I actually got a round of applause and horn honking from all the semi's that were there watching and.....waiting for me to get the hell out of their way! :B
