open, screen emergency exit window for ventilation?

Has anyone tried to build a screen of some kind, and use it so you can open the 'emergency exit' window in their RV for ventilation? We are trying to find a way to be able to open the back emergenc...

That's what ours look like except the prop fits thru a hole and folds to the side when closed.
