-The spindle could use some better repair. If nothing else, take a file to any galling or raised areas. If it's beyond your pay grade, a trailer shop could weld on the spindle and have the repair done right.

If installing the repacked bearing and wheel results in a good result with no runout, you might be good to use it like that.
