Opinions of Thor Motorhomes

Howdy - thinking it might be time to replace our current rig - Thor has caught our attention - some of their B+ rigs - not all that familiar with the company - wondering what my fellow RVers think of them - kind of like phoning a friend! Thanks! ST
  • My 15 year old Thor which we bought used 4 years ago has actually done ok. Normal roof sealant replacements, some chassis maintenance, and had to replace the roof AC recently, but that's not a Thor issue. My only beef with "Thor stuff" would be the quality of the cabinets, drawer slides, etc.

I like the simplicity of my no slide model, no frills electronics, and wish they still made this unit.
  • We have '15 Thor Siesta Sprinter.
Almost a year of use and 8,000 miles.
We have had no problems, love our little rig. Can park it on a normal parking space that has 4' rear overhang.
  • You know I've read so many posts, did a lot of research on all brands before I bought a Thor class A. All brands have problems. Its all a learning experience on each brand. Some call Thor cheap on their models avail. Just like a car which brand automaker you prefer. Get over it, lol. Just get out there and enjoy.
  • There was quite a few posts about 8 months ago about Thor. Big slide problems. If that Thor owner is still on maybe he can chime in agian about all the problems that Thor wasn't able to correct on his MH.
  • My Thor is 10 years old and I have had very few problems.

An RV salesman who I got to know years ago told me that his observations were that Thor quality went in cycles. That we bought ours when the quality was high but starting to slump.

I have no idea what part of their quality cycle they are in now.
  • IMO, Thor products are no different than than their nearest competitor. Some good, some bad. I'll put in a good vote for the one I have. Some minor issues but nothing major.
  • Thor makes a very pretty product, but there have been some questions about build quality.

Effy has said he is happy with his Thor Ace. Perhaps you could send him a PM if you have any specific questions.

  • From talking to lots of RVers in campgrounds, I would not even look at a Thor product, especially motorhomes. The QC is very poor and lots of problems.
