Opinions on heat strip for A/C - UPDATED with Results

I've been thinking of getting a heat strip for the A/C for Christmas and I want help deciding. I've read here that the heat is pretty negligible so they aren't worth it. Here is why we are thinking...

I'm not sure about in a trailer, but I had an 11.5ft. overhead camper one time and it worked great in it. We would use it when the outside temp. was in the twentys at night and it would keep the camper warm.
