Opinions on heat strip for A/C - UPDATED with Results

I've been thinking of getting a heat strip for the A/C for Christmas and I want help deciding. I've read here that the heat is pretty negligible so they aren't worth it. Here is why we are thinking...

Hi Pasusan,

I use mine as a back up to the 100% electric heat. If it gets cold in the night the heat strip will cut in to add an extra 1500 watts to my "mix". It's just great. Current temperature is -10.2 c (13.6 f) and I'm using 2900 watts to maintain the RV at 21 c (70 f).
