Opinions on heat strip for A/C - UPDATED with Results

I've been thinking of getting a heat strip for the A/C for Christmas and I want help deciding. I've read here that the heat is pretty negligible so they aren't worth it. Here is why we are thinking...

yep, when I lived in Cincinnati part of the time I had a mobile home. with a 10 ft. square bedroom, I ran a dehumidifier in it and it took out humidity and put in warmth and that was when It was most comfortable.
