Hi Phil,
Yup that works great to reduce humidity. I'm glad to see I'm not the only person thinking "outside the box".
I ran into a snag last night with the heat strip. It was so cold that the fan motor would not run at full speed. I gave up quite quickly as I do not wish to be replacing motors. Fortunately I had a spare heater.
