Oh so true! And the most idiotic part is the states and feds are taxing themselves out of this particular windfall. The reason that tobacco tax rates keep going up is because fewer people are paying them because they are 'encouraged' to quit (or never start). That makes revenues go DOWN. I cannot imagine that Congress and the Legislatures are eager for tobacco and its tax windfall to vanish entirely. Yet that is exactly where they are headed with this.
How will they replace this lost revenue? Oh, I forgot, reduced health care costs. Who really believes that?
