Oregon State Parks and Smoking

New policy.
Just got an email notification saying that smoking is now illegal in all Oregon State Parks except inside your vehicle and inside the immediate boundaries of individual campsites.

I guess no smoking in common areas, trails, etc.

We are not smokers...Just thought it was interesting. Sounds like they are getting stricter and stricter.

  • Is this "ban" a State Park rule or is it a Forest-wide or County ban?

Whichever - I'm all for it!!
  • OK by me

BUT being a smoker I will stand right at the site boundary and smoke cause I don't/cant smoke inside RV :B

And before anyone gets in a titter
I use ash trays, don't throw butts in firepits, don't toss them on the ground or do any other bad things with the butts.
I smoke. I enjoy a smoke. And I will continue to do so respectfully (I won't blow smoke in your face---maybe up you $^%) :B
  • Smoking ban only applies to tobacco, right?

Wait- for a minute there I thought you said Washington State Parks. Never mind! ;)
  • All we need is one ijit (southern for idiot) that will smoke on a trail, toss it out and burn the forest down. It's DRY here......I'm all for this law.

Oh --- and do NOT go for a hike and decide to burn the toilet paper. Had a big fire up by Hell's Canyon dam because of some hikers thinking it was better to burn than compost it. :( :(
