When I went full time it was a big learning curve for me when it came to staying at CG's. They were not my destination they were for me to rest and enjoy my new RV lifestyle. So 'enjoying' the CG was important to me.
1. On Holidays don't stay at a CG within 20 miles of an attraction or a resort town.
2. It's a given to never travel during the holidays. Find a place to hunker down at on a Wednesday and stay thru until the holiday weekend is over.
3. I found state parks to be filled with too many party people ALL the time. Nothing wrong with that, heck I was one once also once upon a time. And we all did gravitate to the state parks to have exponential fun on the weekends.:W
If you want peace and quiet, find a small off the beaten path CG. Has worked for my going on 6 years now.

The most important thing I learned is that when you pull into a CG ask to be parked out in the lower forty.
If you don't they will park you just like all the rest, all lined up sardine'd in, in the first 2 rows in the next available open empty spot.
Newsflash! They have absolutely no problem parking you in the last row IF YOU REQUEST it!
So next time you pull into a CG and see a lone ranger MH parked on the outskirts of the CG all by themselves, me resting quietly in a lawn chair with a cold one, dogs outside sound asleep 'not' barking at screaming kids running by......that's me! :C
