Outdoor kitchen question

I use ours to cook all meals when we are at the 5er unless there is driving rain. Eliminates the mess and odors from cooking inside and it is easier to clean the outside unit. Ours has a stove, grill and small fridge. All get used daily.

Kinda funny but we thought at first this would be a great option for us. Then the mroe we thought about it the more we completely talkied ourselves out of it.

We use our outside kitchen about 98% of the time. It has a slide-out 2 burner cooktop, but we seldom use that. We use the grill and an electric skillet for most cooking needs. The outside sink and extra fridge space is all one needs unless it rains, and even then we don't usually cook when that happens. Sammiches and cold stuff works well in the rain. We come to camp, not sit inside and look out.

We looked at one with it, but I thought the grills and stoves in them looked like crappy equipment. We ended up buying a bunkhouse that that has a huge outside storage compartment instead of the outdoor kitchen.

I found a great folding table at Sam's that was called a tailgater table that has an extension to hold a grill. I put the table at the back of the camper to make an L shaped kitchen area. I put the Weber Q, and Coleman stove on the table, and the outside compartment makes a great buffet area for other sides, plates, condiments etc. the set up works really great, and I got a lot more storage. I had everything but the $40 table. The outdoor kitchen option was like $1000, and not nearly as functional as what I have now.

No you are not the only one who sees no need for an outside kitchen. I grill outside but prefer my inside air conditioned kitchen.

We use ours 95% of the time, just the wife and I. I am interested in a toy hauler for retirement but can not find one with a complete outside kitchen. This will make it difficult to move on to another unit. We love our outside kitchen and can't imagine camping without it now.

To answer your other question a lot of rear bath units in the 21-25' range have them, or offer as an option. Also some B/H units as an under the lower bunk fill in.

One thing i will add is my first camper had the outdoor burners with the outdoor kitchen. Those i used all the time. The newer one doesn't have them. Those i do miss.

We use it all the time. All the cooking is done outside and you have a place to wash hands and do some minor cleanup. We store all the pots and pans, grilling utensils, paper plates, spices, bug spray and any other stuff that is used out there. We put food in the microwave to keep it warm as other stuff finishes cooking sometimes warm it back up. The fridge mainly holds drinks but as the trip progresses more stuff ends up in it. We still have to make some trips back and fourth but overall we love it and would be a must have on a new camper.

Used ours when the kids traveled with us, now its just us. Didn't even open the door on the Last trip.
