As audio nut going way back, the biggest problem with sound of recorded music is the speaker vs. room interactions. Peaks, nulls, in almost any normal sized room you're fighting a losing battle. This is the elephant in the room.
If you really want to hear recorded music at it's best-try listening outdoors. A couple decent old school bookshelf loudspeakers and a car audio amp which produces 100 watts per channel of real output. You may need to EQ up the bass a bit because the outdoors sucks it out.
It is as close to perfect as you're going to get w/ audio-and that includes systems costing thousands $ but located in typical sized rooms.
Again!! This is not to pollute campgrounds with unwanted sound, or even remote locations where people may be present. This is for places you know you're alone for miles.
