If I was a thief and had a trailer hitch on my truck, I'd consider it a break if I ran across a TT sitting in a parking lot all by itself with no tow vehicle around. I'd probably already have a pair of bolt cutters with me for the pad lock, if you used one. They're handy in my business. It would be "Gone in 60 seconds", and parked where I could take my time striping it of anything I could sell. If there were other TTs parked there and other tow vehicles, I wouldn't stop, but then, you really wouldn't be able to control that.
I'll grant that the odds against it are on your side, but thieves are always looking for an opportunity to avoid working.
