I for one don't think it makes you a "bad parent", but you should be aware that it's against the rules in many RV parks to leave a dog unattended in the rig while you're away. This tends to be more frequently encountered in recreational-type parks than in long term ones.
No criticism intended-, since you're new to the game I thought you might appreciate a heads up on this topic from one dog owner to another.
