We like those Rubber Maid and Sterlite clear tubs too and have a lot of them in and for our RV's. You can see what's on the bottom thru the walls and they come in so many convient sizes. We like and buy RV's with dinettes in our trailers etc as there is so much storage under them and each has a real door. We use 2 of the 13" wide X 37" long X 7" deep clear tubs to put our canned goods and heavy stuff in and are kept right under the dinette seats. The floor is carpeted so the tubs totally filled with canned goods slide out or in almost like they're on ball bearings which is a real plus for my disabled wife. No hunting or reaching in for items as they are right in front of you! The tubs can't move hardly at all when traveling because they are trapped on all sides. This also keeps the heavy items down low and really on the floor. The light items go in the slideout pantry and on the upper cabinets. Storing locations should be selected from the floor level to the ceiling acording to item weight as much as possible. The long dinette seats are also great for sitting up in with your legs up also while just talking, relaxing, games, or planning things etc. The 4 RV's we've had with table and chairs setups were quite uncomfortable after a while of sitting even in our very high end RV's because you can't really change your position much at all. Just our personal choice!
We use other sizes as needed to transport and store our medicines, and the things you use them for too. Even keep areosol cans and liquid containing bottles having contents that would stain or create any problem if they leaked and the tubs on the shelves which prevents this. No hunting thru shelves, just pull the tub out to get what you want and shove it back. We are blessed with many usable proper size storage areas and that is big criteria to us when selecting a model/floorplan. You KNOW you'll need plenty of storage for long travels or long times so it's very important. Even use them in the outside storage areas and therefore know just where everything is. So positive and easy to see what you need the replentish when you get back home and never have to move stuff from one RV to the other etc until the day you empty the RV to sell etc it!
Even use them under the liftup bed for about everything and it keeps stuff organized and little things don't get lost.
In general, A place for everything and everything in it's place! It works for keeping all the multiple RV's and boats you own and works great in the stick and bricks too... Nothing's perfect though!
