oxidation

All of the cleaner polishes that I tried work but are a lot of effort. The Barkeepers friend worked the best on heavily oxidized surfaces. Any was can be applied afterward.

im just looking for an easy way to get the oxidation and wax off.Pretty much just the prep job.I will be doing the polishing separate.

BioKleen boat hull and RV cleaner.. The write up sounds good but I would be very skeptical about the oxidation claims. If you use it, please post the results as I'm sure many here will be interested including me! I just finished going over my whole trailer with a power buffer and cleaning compound a few weeks ago.

Jasco prepaint conditioner (a TSP substitute) or any product with Phosphoric acid will be the closest you can get to spray and rinse. The Phosphoric acid products react with aluminum and glass so one has to be careful with their use. Usually, some brushing is required to scrub off the oxidized finish.

I have used Starbrite Marine Polish for quite a few years with good results.

A stiff bristle brush with soap will do it. Then to avoid oxidation use Blue Coral Wash & Wax as it has 10% Bees wax in it that bonds to the Fiberglass and creates a membrane that stops Oxidation. It also works on awnings to waterproof them.

Both of the products mentioned are good. I have used them in the past.
They are basicly polishing compounds that will remove the oxidation and a wax/sealer. Very much the same as Nu-Finish.
I have never seen a spray on-wash off product that actually restored the finish.
Polishing compound, available at most auto parts stores, or Walmart, is the best in my book and the least expensive.
After the finish is restored apply a gel-coat sealer and/or UV protectant.

A good cleaner wax like Meguires will do the trick - but you will have to work for it. Use an electric buffer to take it off being careful around edges.

I came across this stuff on the web called bio-kleen oxidation remover and thought it sounded just what I was looking for.Take a look and tell me what you think.

Don't know if there's any spray on wipe products that'll get ride of oxidation. But I found a product that with a lot of elbow grease and time will totally remove old oxidation from fiberglass finishes. It's called "Buff Magic". Can only be bought on the internet. It's made for the fiberglass boat industry, and man does it ever do a job on RV's. If I remember, it's about $25.00 a can, not very big, but you don't use much at all. I bought a can, and with a small buffer 4" pad applied the stuff. You use very, and I mean very little on the pad. You buff until you can't see the stuff anymore. Do a small area at a time, and when your through buffing that area, wipe off with a dry towel. It'll leave a hayes, kind of like wiping off wax after it's dried. Now, if your rig is really oxidized bad, you might have to go over the same area a couple of times to get it looking really great. And after your through, you'll apply some kind of top coat, like wax to protect the finish from becoming oxidized again. Don't get in any hurry, because this is going take some time. I did my 34 foot motor home over a little more than a weeks time frame. Worked on it for about 3 to 4 hours a day. The finish on my rig before I started was just dull, I mean nothing. But when I got through, it looks like a new rig. And my is 13 years old.
