Cotton is just about the worst material you could possibly put on your feet. The old axiom is ABC. Anything But Cotton. Cotton DOES absorb...and stays wet, softening the skin and promoting bacteria growth. Wool, wool blend, silk or nylon are far superior at wicking and keeping your feet happy. Tons of info about this all over the interwebz.
